Tethering from mobile data instead of having a traditional home internet plan.

I am in need of both new home internet and phone plan (including new phone). I am from London, UK for reference.

I have looked at prices and it will be cheaper for me to just get a mobile plan with unlimited data and not purchase any traditional cable internet plan. I often work from home (my flat) and the mobile reception is great here. When I first moved in I tethered off my phone for my laptop internet for work, Netflix etc. without issue. Has anyone ever tried to do this long term and ditch the home internet altogether?

I realize that I will need to keep my phone on charge when at home as tethering kills battery life. But has anyone had other issues with this?

TL,DR: Should I ditch home internet and only tether off an unlimited phone plan?
